3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as follows:
- Service providers: We may share information with trusted third-party vendors and service providers who perform services on our behalf — such as messaging and telecommunications providers (to deliver SMS messages), hosting and infrastructure providers, payment and transaction processors, and customer-support tools — solely to the extent necessary for them to perform those services and subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Repair shops and service providers: To coordinate the maintenance and repair you request, we may share relevant service and vehicle information with the repair shops and Third-Party Providers involved in fulfilling your request.
- Legal and safety: We may disclose information where required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TruckMe, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
Mobile Phone Numbers and SMS Consent Data. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in or consent data with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose mobile phone numbers and related messaging data to service providers solely as necessary to operate the TruckMe SMS program and provide the Service, including messaging and telecommunications providers, subject to applicable confidentiality and data-protection obligations. Mobile opt-in and SMS consent data are not sold or transferred to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies (such as SDKs, pixels, and local storage) to operate and secure the Service, remember your preferences, and analyze usage. You can control cookies through your browser or device settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality. We do not use cookies to sell your personal information or for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control. Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. Where required by law, we treat a GPC signal as a valid request to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for the browser or device from which it is sent.
5. De-Identified and Aggregated Data
We may create de-identified or aggregated data from the information we collect and use it for any lawful purpose, including to operate, analyze, and improve the Service. We maintain and use such data in de-identified form and will not attempt to re-identify it, except as permitted by law.
6. Data Security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, to maintain records of SMS consent and opt-out requests, to comply with our legal, regulatory, tax, and accounting obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we will delete or de-identify it in a manner consistent with applicable law.
8. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
The rights described below apply only to the extent provided by applicable law and may be subject to applicable exemptions, limitations, and verification requirements.
